Ice dyeing is a great way to give your fabrics a really beautiful pattern as the dye hits the fabric at different times and with different intensities, and you will create amazing colour combinations.
Sheri Vegas is known as the craft expert on youtube with her channel having a whopping 150, 000 followers.
Your teacher, Sheri Vegas of YouTube fame, will explain the concept behind tye dying with ice dyeing and then show you step by step instructions on how to create our own fabric art pieces for this workshop project: either a beautiful natural fibre robe or scarf and a very handy tote bag (two pieces provided).
You will learn what supplies you need to make more amazing garments in the future, how to fold your garment for dying, how to set up the dye tray, and washing instructions.
This class is at the beginner level and is good for anyone who enjoys dyeing, arts and crafts, and DIY fashion. This class demonstrates ice dyeing techniques and the secret to making your dyeing washing safe.
Learn the skills and techniques to upcycle your clothes and fabrics again and again at home in the future!
Knowledge required
This is a beginner's workshop with no experience required. Children need adult supervision (note: the gown is adult size).
What you'll get in your craft kit
All materials and two fabric items (eg robe, bag) you need to make your own custom ice dyed garments.
What you'll need
- Four to five ice cube trays of ice or half a bag of ice.
- A bowl or baking pan to catch water and a strainer or a rack (that fits inside of the bowl or baking pan) to elevate your fabric art pieces.

An adult must be present whilst kid(s) engage with the box.
